Pastor Maeve Schurz, of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Feasterville, recently helped commuters simultaneously celebrate Valentine’s Day and the beginning of Lent.
On Wednesday, Feb. 14, she stopped by the train station to give out ashes, as well as Ash Wednesday-themed heart candies.
This was Pastor Schurz’s second year leading this initiative in an effort to reach folks who are commuting into the city. This is also her second year with the congregation.
